Review: Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel, Cadbury Twirl, Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar (More Irish Candy) & My Early Week 7 NFL Picks

Junk Food Nation, I wanted to get to my NFL Picks early this week, so here we go.  Last week, I went 6-8, which leaves me 48-43 on the season.  It struck me as odd that I had my total games for this season as 91, but I counted everything up, and it’s right.  So right now I have a 52.7 winning percentage.  Not great.  C’mon Week 7 – this is where I get healthy.

NINERS @ SEAHAWKS: Game’s already over, but I had the NINERS winning here.  But I would like to thank the Seahawks for beating the Pats last week.  No bitterness.

TITANS @ BILLS: NEVER BET AGAINST BUFFALO.  Plus, Matt Hasselback? Please.

REDSKINS @ GIANTS: SKINS, only because for some strange reason the Giants play better on the road than at home.  Of course, I am betting against the current reigning Super Bowl Champs.  Ugh.

SAINTS @ TB: Yes, the SAINTS ain’t what they used to be, but the Bucs suck.  So many near rhymes int that sentence #satisfied

COWBOYS @ PANTHERS: Hmm.  Can Cam step up?  I….I’m not sure. COWBOYS.

RAVENS @ TEXANS: Ravens favored here, but after getting embarassed by the Packers, I expect the TEXANS to come back strong.

BROWNS @ COLTS: This is a match between two bad teams, and I expect the COLTS to show some grit at home.

PACKERS @ RAMS: PACKERS roll.  Throwing 6 TDs last week will do that to team confidence.

CARDINALS @ VIKINGS: Remember when people cared that the Cardinals were undefeated?  Yeah, me neither. VIKINGS.

JETS @ PATRIOTS: I expect the PATRIOTS to fully crush the Jets.  CRUSH THEM.  Like, this should be the highest points of the year.  The Jets are PUTRID.  I don’t care that they won last week.

JAGUARS @ RAIDERS: RAIDERS almost beat the Falcons, and I think they will dominate here at home.

STEELERS @ BENGALS: BENGALS will continue to show improvement as the Steelers show their window has closed.

LIONS @ BEARS: I still am picking the BEARS to be in the Super Bowl.

Today’s junk food comes again through my friend Rob through another friend of his who got this stuff in Ireland: Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel, Cadbury Twirl, Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar!

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel, Cadbury Twirl, Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar: The Money Shot

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel, Cadbury Twirl, and this Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar existed in my friend Rob’s pockets for weeks.  Yummy.  Let’s get to it.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel: The Money Shot

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel: Glucose-fructose syrup is somehow different from plain glucose syrup?

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel: EWWWWWWWW

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel got a little crushed in my friend Rob’s pockets, obviously.  Ah well.  Still had that great Cadbury chocolate taste, and some tasty caramel – at least, what I was able to scrape off the wrapper.  Better than a Rolo.

Cadbury Twirl: The Money Shot

Cadbury Twirl: CHOCOLATE FINGER? Irish are cannibals

Cadbury Twirl: Gotta give Cadbury credit – even if some of the ingredients don’t sound the most natural, keeping the # of them down.

Cadbury Twirl: Like a coated Flake!

A while  back, I did a little write up on Cadbury Flake – well this Cadbury Twirl had the same great flavor and texture – only there was a coating of chocolate on the outside.  Same very VERY soft fold-of-chocolate feeling inside – definitely a melt-in-your-mouth chocolate. MM MM GOOD.

Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar: The Money Shot

Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar: A granola bar that has rice crisps is all good in my book

Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar: Standard look

Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar: Standard cross section

Nice & Natural Caramel Almond Nut Bar was not the most exciting snack, but I really liked it.  It had a greater maple syrup taste than any American granola bar I’d had, which is strange since it’s marketed as a caramel bar. Maybe this glucose syrup they hype is actually maple syrup? Who knows.  Anyways, and the rice crisps definitely gave this granola bar a unique texture.

All in all, again not a bad slew of Irish snacks.  Nothing spectacular or new, however – but solid all around.

PURCHASED AT: gift

COST: zippy

Aha I love the whole “no bitterness” part. Two weeks until the rematch, up for another wager?;]

Cool! Isn’t glucose-fructose syrup high fructose corn syrup?
