REVIEW: Cheddar Nacho Cheez-It & 1-Minute Salad Maker? Dumb or REALLY Dumb?

JFG Nation, is this product dumb or REALLY dumb?

First of all, who the heck washes lettuce like this? You gotta salad-spinner that ish. Otherwise you end up with wet ass lettuce LIKE IN THE VIDEO. Second, this contraption saves you, what, five minutes?? I do not need to be making salad Fast n Furious style, thanks. I’m happy to use a cutting board like everyone else.

What say you, JFG Nation? Let me know in the comments below.

Today’s junk food: Cheddar Nacho Cheez-It!!

This is first of three flavors that Cheez-It has released in their YOU CHOOSE THE CHAMPION FLAVOR PLAYOFFS. Clearly someone was feeling left out with Oreo and Lays doing their thing. I love Cheez-It’s and I really love nachos, so this has to be good, right?

DO THESE TASTE GOOD? Yes.

WHY OR WHY NOT?

It took a little while for me to get it, but the flavor of that fake nacho cheese – nailed. I got a little bit of cumin and a slight tang of what a hot jalapeño tastes like, like what you’d get on a plate of nachos. I guess I kept wanting the flavor to be MORE bold into the taco area but these aren’t meant to be taco flavored – they’re meant to be nacho flavored. And these matched that flavor well.

I will say however that the flavor of nacho cheese was so close to the flavor of the original Cheez-It that it was hard for me to distinguish at first. So while these tasted good, I wasn’t bowled over with the flavor. These were just ok to me.

IttlANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW? One point of criticism – why are these called Cheddar Nachos? The flavor I got was of that great fake nacho cheese not of shredded cheddar. Hmm.

The JFG

I don’t know, I kind of get the salad thing. It makes it easier to just chop everything at once, if I ate more salad and the price was right, I would probably purchase.

I am not a salad person, but this looks kind of cool!

I’m with you. It’s dumb! And washing it like that is useless.

I eat two HUGE salads every day with all kinds of different veggies in them so this looks genius to me! Saves me chopping the mushrooms, squash, cabbage, tomatoes, peppers, etc individually. I am going to look into buying one – thanks for the heads up!

I’m going with dumb. It’s not hard to bring out the cutting board and a knife and make a salad.

Finally tried the Cheeseburger Cheez-it crackers. I was searching for these until you wrote that they were at the Wegmans in Germantown had them. I think that the crackers taste like the McDonald’s hamburger bun with ketchup and mustard. The manager at the Wegmans was nice enough to allow me to open the box and taste them in the store. I shared them with others who were looking at the box. Also tried the Cheese Pizza Cheez-it. They were both ok but not really the “wow” that I was hoping for. I bought 2 boxes of each, since I don’t think they will be in stores too long. I had higher expectations for the Pizza ones, since the Pizza favored Goldfish crackers have been around for along time. Probably would not buy either again, but a nice change.

You are missing the real genius of the salad cutting gadget:

    – no need to find a clean cutting board
-no need to stock up on bandaids
-only one thing to keep clean
-lets you rinse and cut in same gadget so no need to find a separate clean colander

You can see my kitchen is very disorganized. I will definitely look for this thing….
