MICRO-REVIEW: Limited Edition Spicy Chili & Cheese Kettle Cooked Lay’s & I GLUED MY FINGERS

JFG Nation, I finally had something happen to me last night that has NEVER happened to me in my entire life. It’s something we’ve seen on TV, and you’re warned about at various times in your life. It’s something that I clearly disrespected, which is how I ended up in the predicament in the first place.

sigh: I glued two of my fingers together with Super Glue.

How did this happen? Easy – I was trying to super glue a small piece of something to another something, I used a lot of glue, and after I set it, it didn’t look right. So I went to shift the piece with bare fingers, accidentally knocked the piece off, and got super glue all over my fingers as I tried to put the piece in place. Before I knew it, my pinched fingers that were placing the tiny piece back in place WERE FUSED TOGETHER. HOLY EFF.

My exact thoughts:

“oh that’s sticky”

<tries to pull apart fingers, doesn’t work>

“oh sh*t”

<tries again, a little harder, definitely hurts>

“OW. Oh sh*t OOOOH SH*T.”

<tries half heartedly, those fingers are glued tight>

“OH. This is NO JOKE.”

YEAH. Luckily there’s a very easy solution (FYI, all the remedies calling for olive oil, baby oil, warm soapy water…USELESS). The easy solution: Acetone nail polish remover. ACETONE is the key. I dunked my fingers and rubbed gently and that glue dissolved almost immediately. Fingers saved. But let me tell you, I was full on prepared to breakdown in tears. I wasn’t about to go through my own version of House of Wax. *shudder

Has this ever happened to you? Or am I just a moron. Don’t answer that. Whatever – hit the comments below.

Nothing revolutionary here, just a brand new flavor of Lay’s Kettle Chips, which are always good. All that really matters is how do these Limited Edition Spicy Chili & Cheese Kettle Cooked Lay’s taste, right?

In a word: TASTY. I’m gonna make this really simple – these taste like Spicy Nacho Doritos but in potato chip form. Great tangy cheese notes, like a really bold nacho cheese. Good slight spice on the back end. Overall savoriness was great as there is plenty of onion and garlic powder here as well as tomato powder. I went back and forth between calling these a spicy version of the classic Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles, but decided that the Spicy Nacho Doritos were a more accurate comparison.

All in all, so so tasty. Great kettle chip, great flavor. Took me a few chips to really get into it, but the straightforward taste was undeniable. I could crush crates of these.

Purchased at: Walmart, Germantown, MD

Cost: $2.98

Sincerely,

The JFG

    Ha! I did that once. It is rather panic-inducing. I used petroleum jelly to soften it and then scraped it off. Took forever, but it was all I had available. I share your superglue pain!
