Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzel Poppers: The Money Shot

Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzel Poppers are a “guilt free, low fat” alternative to pretzels! I love pretzels, so I was intrigued by these “airy and crunchy pretzel shells.” They really seem pretty straightforward, so let’s do some photos and get right to the review.

Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzel Poppers: SHELL OF MYSELF

I guess Snyder’s of Hanover called these things “Pretzel Poppers” to sort of capitalize on the success of Pop Chips or Pop Corners, or other “popped” snacks that have grown in popularity in the healthy snacking arena.  Still, nothing about these pretzels is “popped.”

No, instead, these pretzel shells are exactly what they sound like – all the flavor of the pretzel toasted exterior with no dough inside. None. Despite the delicate texture of the shell, most, if not all, the Poppers in the bag I had were fully intact – this wasn’t a bag of just crushed shell pieces.

The Pretzel Poppers themselves were super light and airy, like little pillows of pretzel. Cracked open, I was able to see just how thin the layer of pretzel was – these were basically completely hollow.  I wanted to stuff these with peanut butter.

The flavor of the Pretzel Popper was everything Snyder’s promised – all standard pretzel flavor with no bulky interior that would put me in an enriched flour carb coma. I really enjoyed these.  I DID end up dipping them into peanut butter, into hummus, and into cream cheese – ALL GOOD.

I REALLY liked these, a lot. I’m not totally focused on healthy snacks, so outside of the fun factor, there’s no real other benefit for me (I’d still eat the whole bag, defeating the health trade off) but for those who ARE looking for a lower cal alternative to pretzels, these were pretty awesome.

PURCHASED AT: Giant Grocery, Germantown, MD

  1. Kaitlyn says:

actually, for the health factor, you’d be better off just getting their mini pretzels (110 cals, 0g fat for 20 pretzels). these are definitely just a product of trying to jump on the “popped” bandwagon. i doubt they’ll last too long.

  2. JohnnyP says:

They’re just fooling themselves if they think that people aren’t gonna just inject these twith Easy Cheese

  3. Sarah says:

I have been eating the Unique brand of these pretzel shells….I love them so I imagine I would love these just as much. This is really gross but do you know how easy it is to inject spray cheese in these??

  4. alek says:

Those are screaming to be filled with chocolate. Like a river of chocolate.
