Happy Thanksgiving, Junk Food Nation!  Today’s post is going to be a bit rushed and disjointed, and for that I apologize. I’m busy trying to get my Turkey Day on. I hope you guys are ready for an all-day eating frenzy…at least, that what it is for me.

My contribution to today’s feast? BACON LOLLIS:

There’s lots of recipes for these online, but these specific bacon lollis were made from a recipe I found in the Founding Farmers cookbook… it’s basically thick cut bacon covered in brown sugar, cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, ginger, and white sugar and then baked until crispy.  Decadent, fatty, scrumptiousness. I could eat 30-40 of these myself.

So what are YOU thankful for this Thanksgiving?  Me, I’m thankful for my family, my Junk Food Gal, and for ALL OF YOU, JUNK FOOD NATION! Seriously, the feedback and support you guys give me is what keeps this blog going, so thank you thank you thank you.  Oh, and thank you for Turkey Hill Pumpkin Pie ice cream.  Seriously, this stuff is legit:

My review of this favorite ice cream of mine here. Yeah….so my contribution to this year’s Thanksgiving meal is candied bacon and pumpkin pie ice cream. Sounds about right.

For me, Thanksgiving is all about family, football and eating. Perfect segue way to…FOOTBALL TIME! OH YEAH, people. The Seahawks did me big last week, and I took back my lead over the BackUp QB. Here’s the tally so far regarding the season long bet between me and the BackUp QB:

Seven points.  A touchdown lead.  I’m still sweating a little bit.  This week, for Week 13, NO teams are on BYE, so we have a full 16-game slate from here on forward. I’m posting today so that the BQB and I can bet on ALL SIXTEEN.  Let’s do this. The BQB’s lock for Week 13 is Patriots +3.5. No explanation given, but it’s not hard to see why – the Patriots have been MOWING through good teams, scoring 40+ pts each week, while Green Bay, while impressive against bad teams, got demolished by the SAINTS, who are APPARENTLY AWFUL.  So the Pats it is for the BQB.

My LOCK OF THE CENTURY…OF THE WEEK… is the Broncos -2. Wait, seriously? I know the Chiefs always play the Broncos tough, and this is a road game, but did you know Alex Smith hasn’t thrown a passing touchdown…ALL YEAR?! Wait, that can’t be right. But it is. The Broncos are gonna stomp all over the Chiefs. Yes, I know the Chiefs have burned me all year. Not this time.

I feel like the BQB picked all games opposite of me just to spite me. The jury is out on this one.
