Junk Food Guy Seeking: Seaweed Pringles & Let’s See How Well You Know Me?

Junk Food Nation, you’ve been reading my blog now for ~8 months now, so let’s see how well you know me.  Today is March 1, and March is one of my two favorite months of the year. Can you guess WHY? Let me know in the comments below, and I’ll revisit this tomorrow.

Moving on – JFN, my buddy Arish was traveling abroad when he found these:

The Money Shot

Seaweed Pringles! Apparently these debuted in Asia back in 2010, along with such odd flavors as grilled shrimp and soft shelled crab. Still, as a lover of Asian snacks (er…sometimes) I am very familiar with snacks that contain seaweed.  The savory taste often complements soy flavor very well, and this combo has been used many times on rice crackers, for example.  Still, Seaweed flavored Pringles?  Apparently the chips themselves are green, which is somewhat horrifying, but appropriate. I wanna know what these taste like!

Maybe my friend will bring me back some, maybe not.  Fingers crossed.  Also, anyone else notice the friggin’ rickshaw hat on the label?

    1. March Madness

    2. Um…March Madness again? Since that’s probably not it, I’ll go with spring training.

I’ve only been reading your blog for a day, so I’ll go out on a limb and guess Shamrock Shakes @ McDonald’s…?

It marks the end of lousy Smarch weather?

After your post last week that mentioned Tiny Tower, I downloaded it. Now I’m obsessed. If I don’t knock it off, I’m going to be better at managing the Tiny Tower than my actual job.

@Erika: Hey, Erika 🙂 yes, I’m going strong with my No-Tiny-Tower for Lent promise. It’s KILLING ME. All those stores, unstocked – damnit!

  6. I guess March Madness and St. Patrick’s Day – though the Shamrock Shake is a good guess too…unless there’s some Princeton significance to March…

My first guess was March Madness.

For me, it would probably be the simple fact that it’s not February anymore (and therefore, the end of miserable cold weather is hopefully near). Although Shamrock Shakes and St. Patrick’s Day are pretty awesome too.

I may be crazy, but Seaweed Pringles sound AMAZING. I want some!

I will tell you that these things are heavenly. We bought some for the heck of it in Bali, and I fell in love at the first crunch. We bought 2 more cans shortly after. These American boring flavors just don’t do anything for me anymore.

Good luck, and let me know if you find them. I would buy a case of these.
